CAPTAIN MORGAN MUCKPIT KISUMU

How Nyanza's boldest party embraced the rain as raw energy, creating an experience of the fullness of life with Iyanii and DJ Deewiz.

Iyanii commands the stage at Attela Beach Resort, delivering an electrifying performance with DJ Deewiz that resonated with the Kisumu crowd.

The Captain Morgan Muckpit continued its national tour at Attela Beach Resort in Kisumu, demonstrating the undeniable energy of the Lake Region. Far from slowing the crowd, the heavy downpours intensified the Muckpit experience, adding a raw and immersive edge to the night. Music, rain, and movement flowed together, turning the event into a powerful celebration of living fully in the moment.

The Nyanza stop brought, premium production experience to Kisumu, headlined by Iyanii and driven by the electrifying sounds of DJ Deewiz.

"KISUMU TUNA DONJO MABER"
A Homecoming That Hit Right

Embracing the local slogan Kisumu tuna donjo maber meaning Kisumu we enter well, the event leaned into local pride and connection. Hesbon Amenya, Territory Management Representative for Kisumu Central, explained that Iyanii was the ideal connector for the audience, amplifying the sense of energy and turnout.

"The notation of donjo basically means coming in, it slaps well. Iyanii has resonated well with the target audience we are aiming for. That is why we see a very good turnout. It is meshing very well with the location and the locals here."

Amenya emphasized that the logistical setup ensured a smooth and uninterrupted experience throughout the night.

"There is enough to drink, enough to eat, and safety is guaranteed. Dala means home. So sherehe is coming back home."

GEN Z EMBRACES THE FULLNESS OF LIFE

The activation targeted the 18 to 24 demographic, a group Amenya described as bold and expressive. The visual proof of this energy was evident across the venue, with Captain Morgan bottles visible on every table, reinforcing the brand's presence and appeal.

"The age group that we are targeting has absolutely turned up, the Gen Zs. They want to be seen, they want to be heard. If you look around, every table here has a Captain Morgan bottle, either a 250ml or a 750ml. We are giving them a brand that is bold and resonates with their personality."

KISUMU'S EVOLVING NIGHTLIFE CULTURE

Eddah Wendy, Manager at Attela Beach Resort, reflected on what the turnout revealed about Kisumu's growing openness to new experiences.

"The turn up has just proved that Kisumu is more spontaneous when it comes to trying out new drinks, specifically from this brand. So I want to believe Kisumu is slowly, or more evenly, becoming open-minded to new things and trying different types of liquors in the markets. And then considering that we're in the festive season, it's a good time for people to come together, make merry, make new memories, and just have a good time, shake it off, shake off all the backload from the year."

MANAGING THE ELEMENTS

The weather presented operational challenges throughout the night. Megaminds, the resort's Marketing Manager, acknowledged that the wind and rain tested the venue's capacity.

"It comes down to the environment and the ambience. We are not just offering entertainment. We are offering a safe space where guests feel completely at home. When guests feel safe and comfortable, the party energy remains high, regardless of the weather."

The venue worked to address weather-related issues as they emerged.

"To prove we are a top tier partner, we scaled up our team significantly. These challenges help us identify operational gaps, whether it is managing leakages or securing tents against the wind."

SECURITY AS HOSPITALITY

Undrine Sire, representing security at Attela Beach Resort, provided insight into how the venue's security approach became central to managing the weather's impact on the crowd.

"As you can see the security is tight and most of the time people usually think that security is all about probably beating others but you can see our security, we are very much trained and we have that hospitality spirit. We are very much hospitable so the crowd is actually our main aim."

When the rain intensified, the security team's training became critical.

When it rains, our security team focuses on customer safety. We relocate guests to our main restaurant where it's covered and warm, provide umbrellas, and move people between the resort grounds and tent areas to ensure everyone stays warm and comfortable."

Sire emphasized the multi-layered security collaboration that made the night possible.

"We were joined with the G4S and we are working hand in hand. The security, apart from any other department, you can see that security is the large number because we care about the crowd and our customers. Whenever we have an event, you'll find out that we have the G4S, we have the artillery security, and also we have the police, and in that we work together to see that security is very much tight, but not that much tight, but to the safety of our guests."

Sire reinforced the venue's commitment to high standards and positioned Kisumu as a destination where large scale entertainment is executed safely.

"Kisumu is a developing county. Whatever they have in Mombasa, we have much more. When you come to Attela, you will find security is tight and hospitality is unmatched. Attela is the safe place to be."
