Dairy Tech Africa 2025: Building a Bigger, Better Dairy Future

As Dairy Tech Africa wrapped up its second edition this year, the message from organizers was clear: the platform is growing, and with it, the ambition to transform the region’s dairy sector.
Held annually since its launch in July 2023, the event is positioning itself as East Africa’s flagship dairy innovation and business platform. Speaking during the closing day, one of the organizers emphasized:
“Long-term vision, we intend to make it bigger and better… It grows like that.”
With planning for the third edition already underway, this year’s forum showcased strengthened partnerships, regional collaboration, and forward-looking reflections on inclusion.
Anchored in Strong Partnerships
Dairy Tech Africa 2025 featured strategic partnerships with:
Kenya Dairy Board (KDB)
Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development – Dairy Division
Key dairy cooperatives such as Limuru Dairy, Kinangop Dairy, Mukurwe-ini, among others.
These collaborations were essential in mobilizing stakeholders, organizing exhibitors, and reinforcing the technical credibility of the event.
“The key strategic partners we have worked with this year is the Kenya Dairy Board, then the Ministry… and various dairy cooperatives,” the organizer noted.
Trade and export promotion agencies also played a role, not only in expanding the forum’s visibility but also by supporting regional engagement as part of a growing cross-border dairy economy.
An International Platform, Hosted in Nairobi
Though rooted in Kenya, Dairy Tech Africa is distinctly international in ambition.
“We are hosting it in Nairobi, but when it comes to stakeholders, we do our invitations across the globe.”
The forum brought together not just Kenyan producers and processors, but also drew interest from across Africa, a sign of its growing continental pull.
Mobility Innovation Meets Dairy: The Case of the Bikes

One exhibitor stood out for connecting dairy logistics with humanitarian need, a company showcasing electric and manual bicycles used in refugee camps such as Kakuma.
The exhibitor’s innovation offers a glimpse into the kind of cross-sector solutions that Dairy Tech Africa is beginning to surface, where mobility, energy, and dairy livelihoods intersect.
Final Thoughts
Dairy Tech Africa is a growing platform for partnerships, innovation, and inclusion in East Africa's dairy sector. While still maturing, it is creating meaningful space for conversation, commerce, and collaboration.
As stakeholders push for more representation, from grassroots cooperatives to marginalized communities and climate-resilient innovators, the forum is set to play a defining role in shaping the future of dairy in the region.
