Ensuring Safety & Smooth Logistics: Multi-Agency Plan for WRC Safari Rally 2025

The 2025 WRC Safari Rally is set to take place from March 20–23, bringing motorsport enthusiasts and top rally teams to Kenya’s rugged landscapes. As excitement builds, a Multi-Agency Security Meeting was held on March 5, 2025, at the Simba Auditorium, KCB Towers, Upper Hill to outline security, traffic, and emergency measures.

Led by AIG Stephen Etyang, the meeting brought together key stakeholders, including the National Police Service (NPS) and National Youth Service (NYS), alongside major sponsors like KenGen, Safaricom, KCB, Betika, Kenya Airways, AA Kenya, and CFAO Mobility.

Coordinating Security for a Global Event

With thousands of spectators expected along the rally routes in Nairobi, Naivasha, and Hell’s Gate, security and traffic flow remain top priorities.

As we prepare for the Safari Rally, we call upon everyone to observe rules and regulations. The security sector will be on the ground to ensure a successful and safe event

To maintain order and prevent congestion, traffic police and emergency teams will be deployed along key routes.

Traffic Management: Ensuring a Smooth Flow

Traffic disruptions are expected between March 20–23, 2025, particularly on roads leading to Naivasha. Traffic Commandant Eric Kirago detailed alternative routes for motorists:

🚧 No roadside parking at Kikopey, Mai Mahiu–Naivasha
🚗 Alternative routes for Western Kenya & Rift Valley motorists via Narok
🚙 Diversion for Nakuru-bound motorists via Thika–Flyover–Gakoe
🚁 Aerial surveillance by police helicopters for live traffic monitoring
🚦 Signage and traffic marshals to direct rally spectators

Traffic offenders will be dealt with according to the law, and unauthorized vehicles will not be allowed on the Moi South Lake Road
