The Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya (FIDA-Kenya) has issued a powerful statement condemning alleged sexual misconduct at Alliance Girls High School, following disturbing revelations made public in Africa Uncensored’s Deep Dive newsletter.
The statement names Mr. Peter Ayiro, a teacher and Christian Union Patron at the institution, as the subject of multiple allegations of sexual abuse spanning several years. Survivors, some of them former students, have come forward with deeply troubling accounts of harassment, abuse, and institutional silence.

“We stand in solidarity with the brave young women and girls who have come forward to share their harrowing survivor experiences,” FIDA-Kenya’s statement reads. “Their courage in speaking out has shed light on what appears to be years of unchecked abuse, misconduct, and institutional neglect. These voices must not be ignored; they demand and deserve justice.”
FIDA-Kenya emphasized that schools must be held to the highest standards of safety and care, and denounced the failure of Alliance Girls High School to prevent or respond to the alleged abuse. The organization commended the survivors for breaking the silence and challenging the “culture of impunity” within the school.
Key Demands from FIDA-Kenya:
The Board of Management of Alliance Girls High School must urgently investigate the allegations against Mr. Peter Ayiro and take immediate action to ensure student protection and accountability.
The Ministry of Education must acknowledge its oversight and initiate disciplinary and legal proceedings against individuals and systems that enabled or ignored the abuse.
All schools, both public and private, must implement clear gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH) policies, including:
Mandatory GBVH training for all teaching staff.
Safe, anonymous reporting channels for survivors.
Enforcement of non-retaliation mechanisms.
Nationally backed protocols to protect the dignity and safety of all learners.

The organization also reaffirmed its readiness to provide legal and psychosocial support to affected students and invited any survivor—from Alliance or other institutions—to reach out in confidence.
“Justice cannot wait, and protection cannot be optional. Our girls deserve better—and we will not relent until their voices are heard and their rights are upheld,” said Christine Kungu, FIDA-Kenya Chairperson.
